There are those blogs, articles and such that say focus on one craft and perfect that craft. Something about 10,000 hours is what makes you professional skill level.
I have had a hard time just choosing one craft. I love it all, I am good at it all… graphic design, photography, fine art and video production. I love it all. That is why my website is Ali Creative. I am creative. I even want to write stories and movie scripts! And for fun I dabble in music.
So perhaps I will just be good at it all but I do know what gives me life and what I am most passionate about is photography and video production. I have wanted to do both since I was really young. Fine art and music are hobbies that I love to share, and graphic design is practical and I’ve done that the longest. But recently, I have mentioned that I have gone through some life changing events and I decided that as good as I am at graphic design, photography is what I need to do and although I still accept graphic design jobs, my biggest focus will be on my photography.
I doubted myself this last year since I started my business full time. I doubted my ability to get out there and get people to want me to photograph them. I believe in positive energy and if I doubt myself then others will feel this doubt. I love photography. I love seeing the photos I take and I get excited to share them. I believe I am good at it and my photography portfolio is very strong.
So here it goes! I am excited to put my energy into my photography and I appreciate all the support I receive.
