I am a bit of a wanderlust. I lived in Washington for many years, then recently I was in Texas for a short time and now I am wandering around Southern Utah, for who knows how long.  But the amazing part about being here in Southern Utah is all the places to go hiking.

Nature photography is one of my favorite kind of photography to do. I decided that while I am here I am going to explore and photograph as many trails and places as I can. Southern Utah is just incredibly beautiful.

The first week of May I had the opportunity to take a trip to visit Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park with my great friend and photography companion, Heather Wallace. We stayed in a quaint little mountain town called Duck Creek Village and two days we explored Bryce Canyon and two days we explored Zion.

It was incredible. Just incredible.  The views from atop at Rainbow Point at Bryce Canyon was just amazing. The trails in Zion were soul cleansing. I can say that views of the earth at Bryce Canyon or climbing over rocks at Zion makes you feel humbled and blessed that you get to experience and be on this beautiful planet.

I pushed myself as a photographer while I was there. I want to capture parts that would probably be looked over, I tried out new a lens—I really want a telephoto lens—and experimented with star photography.  I am still trying to figure out the star photography; I definitely will do more of that. But I got some great images and I am a better photographer.
