One of the magical things about being here in Southern Utah is going on a hunt to find Blooming Cactus. Prior to me moving here I had no idea that some cacti had flowers. Sadly, once the flower blooms it’s just as soon gone. So the ideal time to go out and photograph these magnificent plants is right when they bloom. It can be a bit tricky. One weekend we went out and didn’t find a single blooming cactus. Then we ventured out the next weekend, a bit closer to home, and found a whole lot of them. The ones we found were mostly the fuchsia and the purple colors but they still made fantastic subjects to photograph.

Here are a select few of my favorite. My apologies for those who don’t like spiders. It is one of my most favorite topics. I am putting together all my spider photography into a book! Enjoy!
