Day 2 – June 6, 2014

Day 2 we decided to book it the rest of the way. I at first was bummed by the idea but then I was okay with it. We got to see the beautiful Oregon countryside the day before and traveling with a toddler had been easy so far but I certainly didn’t want to tempt fate.
We did know that at one point we would need to stop and eat. As we were traveling we were talking about Twin Falls. I had never seen Shoshone Falls before and by lunchtime we were ahead of schedule so we decided to get off the highway a bit and stop at Shoshone Falls.

I was so happy we did. Even though it was windy it was still worth the stop. It was a beautiful sunny warm day. We probably spent a good hour and half there. I have to say, I got some beautiful shots. I loved how there were some rainbows coming off the water. It was also interesting because there was rock with a whole bunch of coins on it from people making wishes.

I tried to get other random shots along the way when I wasn’t driving. Most of the day I was trying to convince my mom that we should figure out a way to be traveling bloggers. Just hit the open road, take pictures and write of what we see. Her being a semi-retired truck driver of 10 years she has an aptitude for the open road. I even came up with a catchy title.

I actually, believe it or not, am not a fan of driving. But my love of the world and all that is in it just compels me to want to drive the country and see the whole world. How cool it would be to take the small highways to lesser-known places. (It is in a way what I am doing with my project called Two Women One Mission.) We all want to know where the roads go, I just want to photograph and write about it.

Oh, well, to sum up the day we made it to our destination. I got to spend some evening time with my Grandma, Louise Blood, how I love her dearly. I was excited to make it and see family but I also know that I this trip was a path of Photography Discovery and so far it was AMAZING.

Here are some of my favorite images:
