Road Trip to Photography Discovery Day 3

Day 3 – June 7, 2014

Day 3 was interesting. I did some event like photography, more like photojournalism style. It was a baptism and so I did a few shots of the family after it, which was more portrait style. The mom took some shots before the baptism and their youngest son was playing with their camera and deleted the pictures, oh no! Luckily, I was there with my camera and got to take some family photos after the baptism.

There was a get-together afterwards at their house. They had a magician show up. At first I was thrown off about having a magician show up after a baptism. But, I was excited to be able to explore photojournalism style photography. The guy was hilarious and his tricks were super good and creative. I enjoyed the show and enjoyed taking pictures. Then the kids went and played in a neighbor’s yard, so I followed at one point and photographed my little girl playing in water and in the park next to the house. It was so gorgeous outside. I love Utah summers. I grew up in Utah and so it was reminding me of my youth. I have to say, I was longing for the warm summer nights again. Although, now being back home in Washington and going camping, I am reminded why I love it here.

Here are just some of my favorite shots. I love doing photojournalism style photography. It feels more real and I love how it is unpredictable. The road trip to photography discovery had been amazing and I couldn’t believe all the different opportunities I have had just only 3 days in.
