I am excited that in my last two semesters at NCAD we are doing projects that are more self-directed. As it should be. One project I chose to do is a Film Noir. It stemmed from a project in my Studio Photography class but I am taking it a step further. I am excited to get that rolling and hopefully produce some amazing shots. I will be using film and digital for that project. It will be a short film but the main part of the project is getting scene still shots that can tell the story on their own. It will be fun I think.

Another project I have chosen to do is the Human Form Photography Study. It is essentially a study of the human form. Kind of like what you would do with charcoal or a pencil in figure drawing class but I will be using my camera instead. It is in no way to demoralize or be sexual in anyway. I doubt any complete nudity would be involved. The human form is amazing a beautiful. The shapes and contour lines are stunning. This study will show all shapes and sizes. Everyone is so unique and different but yet beautiful in their own way. I hope I can get enough models for this project. I think it would be neat to have a gallery showing of this project. But at the very least create some amazing portfolio pieces. I like to think this will also help me when I do other photography projects using the figure. Kind of like how fine artists use figure drawing as a basis for their later art pieces involving the figure.

I am hoping to get models for the projects! I have offered in exchange some nice portrait photographs. I have purchased this equipment I might as well focus some of my final projects surrounding it. I am excited to be consumed by photography projects for the next month. I am also happy to be interning for photographer Linda Wolf again. Her photography is amazing and I am sure I will learn a lot from her. I am now starting to think like a professional and no longer hiding behind the camera as a timid photography student. Granted, I still have a lot to learn, especially with our world and technology always changing, but I am gaining confidence in my abilities to be doing projects and finding opportunities to do this as a career.
